Resource Management
Resource Management enables you to effectively
manage resource capacity and allocation. It balances your resource supply,
including both staffing levels and skill base, with incoming demand, giving you
full visibility and control over project demand, such as project work, as well
as day-to-day non-project work (sustaining activities), such as provisioning
new employees and installing vendor patches.
As projects increase, resource challenges emerge.
Companies with large and complex project portfolios often run into challenges
as they attempt to optimally manage the underlying resources required of those
projects. They lack mechanisms to track resource utilization and capacity, as
well as a comparative tool to optimize project scheduling. Without these
elements, organizations suffer from poor visibility and inadequate strategic
decision making processes for resource planning. Their projects are not
optimized and money gets wasted.
